Upcoming Yoga Workshops:
Rest, Renew and Restore Yoga
Sunday 13th November, 1-3pm
This workshop combines three practices, Yin Yoga , Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra. One practice flows into the other and the design and intention of the practice is for you to experience a deep sense of peace and wellness in body, mind and spirit. These are the 3 most relaxing practices within the Yoga tradition. They are all different but each in their own way help us to experience letting go, shedding of tension and a fostering of a meditative state during practice. When we combine the 3 together, well, let’s just say relaxation is pretty much guaranteed, and a feeling of peace that will stay with you after you leave the mat!
This quiet and still practice is especially important this season. All the ancient wisdom traditions advise a slowing down at this time. It really serves us well to do this. It provides the body with an opportunity to heal and recover. It brings us into out more feminine (yin) state, which is important whether we are male or female, the more feminine, receptive, non doing/striving energy is forgotten in a world predominated by yang energy of striving and over achieving.
Physiologically this type of practice takes us out of sympathetic nervous system dominance (stress) into parasympathetic dominance (rest and digest), unless we do something to make this switch on a regular basis, we easily become overwhelmed and exhausted. You will be carefully guided through deep slow stretching and breathing and gently encouraged to release stress on all level. In a nutshell, a practice to recharge your batteries! We will practice by candlelight.
Venue: Phoenix Yoga Studio, Market Point Medical Park, Mullingar, Co, Westmeath
A 2 hour Yoga practice can be a great introduction if you are a beginner OR a chance to deepen the practice if you already attend classes.
