Our Philosophy: Phoenix Yoga Studio is the antidote to the gym! We believe that everybody can gain benefits from yoga, regardless of age, shape, fitness level or size, and all in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Our classes are run in a safe, supportive environment, with experienced teachers who are passionate about yoga. We offer classes and workshops for everyone, so if you just want to relax and chill out or work up a sweat, there's a class for you!
From Here to Maternity: We also offer a full range of classes and services for mums and parents to be. Pregnancy yoga, private antenatal classes/yoga for birth workshops, Mother & Baby yoga and antenatal massage and reflexology are all provided by caring and experienced professionals.

Nine Months courses have been designed to enable couples to feel they can approach birth with knowledge and confidence. Combining knowledge of the labour and birthing process with the benefits of yoga, this workshop covers many topics, including:
Understanding the process of labour
Breathing and relaxation techniques
Use of movement and gravity assisted positions
Parentcraft and the transition to parenthood
Led by registered midwife Elizabeth McGovern and Birthlight yoga teacher Laura Feeney

Bealtaine Yoga Workshop – Welcoming the Summer!
Sunday May 1st 2016 1pm - 3pm
As spring transitions to summer it is the perfect time to take a pause to re- connect with our self’s embrace the emerging summer! Bealtaine was a big celebration in the Celtic Calendar, marked by fires and flowers and festivities, this was done in order to attune to the energy of this time of year, which is about, blossoming, fertility and becoming more alive. This first part of this yoga practice is designed to awaken the body and mind, stretching into tight and stuck parts to lift the energy and bring space for brightness and positivity, rekindling your life force/prana. We will practice some pranayma (breathing techniques) to assist with this.
The second half of the practice will be a deeply restful restorative yoga practice, using props and bolsters to allow for complete rest and relaxation, body, mind and soul. You will be ready to bring on the summer!
A 2 hour Yoga practice can be a great introduction if you are a beginner OR a chance to deepen the practice if you already attend classes

Leave it on Your Yoga Mat! Yoga Workshop with Laura

Got stress, fatigue, tension? Or just having "a day"?? This is a yoga practice just for you - wring it out, let it all go and leave it on your mat! Clear it all out and free yourself with a dynamic and challenging (but accessible!) practice of movement, twists, and standing poses before we slow it down and move into a deeper stillness with longer holds, breathing practices, and a restorative or two before blissful savasana!
Suitable for all levels, but be prepared to sweat a bit!

Mindfulness and Stress-Reduction: 8-part series
Starting Wednesday 27th April 2016, 10am - 12.30pm
This 8-part course gives people an opportunity to experience a wide range of mindfulness practices for everyday living. This is the 'gold-standard' and internationally recognised Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction course (MBSR) established by Jon Kabat-Zinn.
Perhaps you have heard how mindfulness could help you take charge of your life in new ways? Perhaps to help you cope with stressors more calmly and effectively? Or perhaps you have tried some mindfulness at home or attended some occasional classes and you now wish to develop a more regular practice in everyday life?
Mindfulness is essentially about training the mind in a particular way that can help you to relate to thoughts and feelings with less judgment and with more compassion. The course aims to help you to relax, to take better care of yourself and to get more out of life. Studies show that it is a highly effective complementary programme for people seeking to live a fully engaged life and for those living with chronic health needs. It is suitable for beginners and for those who have some experience who wish to deepen their practice of mindfulness.
Each Wednesday morning, beginning on the 27th April, we meet for 2.5 hours to practice and explore aspects of bringing mindfulness to life. There is also 1 full day 'retreat' style that will also be included. The cost also includes a course manual and recordings of guided meditations. Usual cost is €295 with an early bird booking reduced cost of €245.
The next course is scheduled to begin on Wednesday mornings at 10.00 am from 27th April to 15th June.
